When You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling

Maybe you’ve been working on a project from hell, maybe clients are scarce, your steady stream of income suddenly slowed or you’re struggling to make ends meet at all.

Whatever the cause, it happens to everyone sooner or later. Most of the time, you really love what you do and can’t imagine doing anything else. But when things get really tough, that love can start to fade. Struggle and self doubt can creep in and try to set up shop.

So when it feels like things are falling apart and maybe you should just give up, how do you get back that loving feeling for what you do? (more…)

Holiday Downtime – Online or Off?

Lately, I’ve been reading about different ways other entrepreneurs are preparing for the holiday season this year. Some are taking online sabbaticals; not answering or even saving emails between certain dates in November and December, taking a break from their blog or just taking a large block of time off altogether.

At first, this really surprised me. Not answering or saving email?!?! Neglecting your blog for months? But after more thought, although I don’t think I can apply this to my own life right now, I get it. (more…)

The Work Better – Feel Happier Plan

For most of us (well, at least for me) there are never enough hours in the day. I’m always wishing for more time to get through everything I want or need to do that day; writing on calendars, making my infamous lists and trying to figure out new ways to stretch or create more time.

Working, having a family and trying to make time for yourself in between can seem an impossible task but I’ve been thinking about this more lately and decided to start re-thinking how I prioritize, plan and execute. (more…)

Good On Paper

Every month, I set goals for myself and write them all out trying to be as specific as possible with dates or at least a time frame attached. Maybe they are not always realistic but no one can say I’m slacking. Optimistic as they may be, I really feel they keep me on track and keep my thinking moving forward. The only downside is how I feel when I don’t meet them all. Like this month. (more…)
