Rather unconsciously, at the beginning of the year I decided I was done with the current state of my cluttered, overflowing inbox. My solution – unsubscribe.

It was a little difficult deciding which emails to to get rid of and which to keep. During the last year, I was probably a little overly enthusiastic and subscribed to everyone and anyone interesting or promising, seemingly bursting with with ideas and inspiration. (more…)

I recently had great experiences with some very small businesses (fellow freelance and entrepreneurs really). The people I worked with really impressed me, not just with the service they provided but with the way they provide it.

Because of the great personal service I received, I’m a satisfied customer who will bring them referrals as well as my own repeat business. And isn’t that the slam dunk we all strive for? Because those are the keys to keeping your business alive and constantly growing. (more…)

Meeting with or speaking to a new, potential client is always a little exciting and nerve racking but most times, a happy occasion. When things go well, you’re sharing information or ideas and they seem not only happy but excited to be working with you and getting their web site off the ground, then it’s an ever greater time. After exchanging contact information, you start preparing your big ideas that you know will blow them away – how can they not? But a strange thing happens, they never call. The return of customer service?

I’ve been noticing a shift more and more as as I’ve been running errands, shopping, etc. I usually return home irritated or at least with little to no enthusiasms after a trip to the mall, the grocery store or even ordering food.
