Within the surge of new reality t.v. shows, there is one type I like. I love shows where you get watch other people’s creative process – from idea to execution, the passion and struggle anyone creative goes through and the blood, sweat and tears behind it.

Last night, I was watching a new favorite show on the Sundance Channel called All On The Line.
The episode was a great one – a lesson about letting your ego take the wheel and ending up in a ditch on the side of the road. (more…)

I’ve written several times about all the great resources online for web designers; free tutorials, videos, blogs, I love them all! But there are definitely times when I really want the convenience and comfort of a bound, paper book to read and carry with me. (Maybe I’m an old fashioned girl…) With so many books on web design out these days, I don’t always know which ones will make the best investment. As much as I love to read, spending time and money on a terrible book invokes the same anger and disappointment as walking out of the theatre after seeing a terrible movie – I want those hours and dollars back!

Luckily, my time and hard earned cash has been extremely well spent over the past few weeks on Bullet Proof Design by Dan Cederholm. (more…)

Susan Wright, founder of Tranquil Hearts, is one of those dream clients everyone hopes for. Easy to communicate and work with, she knows what she wants and what will not work for her and is so laid back and positive, the process of building her initial web site could not have been a more smooth and happy experience. Months later, speaking to Susan about her business and web site, I jumped at the chance to work with her further on redesigning the site to better communicate who Susan is and what her work is all about. I feel like I’ve written a lot in the past about being “stuck”, whether it’s having trouble coming up with ideas, looking for design or color inspiration or just feeling like you’re hitting a wall.

But is there anything more panic inducing? More frustrating and scary? Maybe it’s just that way for me.
